This is an abstract drawing piece I created as apart of my “Black & Beautiful” collection in honor of Black History Month, inspired by some of the black women who’ve inspired me. This piece is of Lauryn Hill, many people think of Lauryn and her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, while it is one of my favorite albums of all time and Lauryn is one of my favorite artist the reason I chose to draw her in this piece is because I think that same album is a prime example of the difference between working with a talent vs. working with an anointing from God. Lauryn’s music had an anointing on the Miseducation album in my opinion. I loved hearing her speak about her faith and belief in God at this time as well. I feel she demonstrated the difference in doing music guided by God vs carnal music.
